Our "Journey with Jesus" actually begins with the ministry of John the Baptist. In Mark 1:1-8, Mark gives us a simple summary of John the Baptist’s ministry. You can find a great deal more information about John in the other Gospel accounts.
Yet there is one item that I would like to draw your attention to and it is found in vs. 7:
And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
John pointed people to Jesus to Christ.
When I enter Heaven's glory and I see my Savior's face, I will offer Him ten thousand years of praise. Then I'll find that special one in whose life I saw God's Son, And thru tears of joy with trembling lips these words I'll say:
"I saw Jesus in you, I saw Jesus in you, I could hear His voice in the words you said--I saw Jesus in you. In your eyes I saw His care, I could see His love was there. You were faithful, and I saw Jesus in you."
Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to ask ourselves, “Are we pointing people to Jesus? Can people see Jesus in our lives?”
Who, in your home, do you need to point to Christ?
Who, in your office, do you need to point to Christ?
Who, in your neighborhood, do you need to point to Christ?
Which of your friends do you need to point to Christ?
Will others be able to see Christ through our words? Will they see Christ in our attitude? Will they see Christ in our actions? Today, consciously live so that others will be able to see Christ in you. Point others to Jesus Christ.
