Welcome Team Ministry
A ministry designed to allow us to more effectively proclaim the Gospel and see lives changed.
Why do we need a "Welcome Team" ministry?
People in our city are hurting and looking for hope. They are searching for the truth in a world that is devoid of truth. They have tried religion and come up empty. They need to know that it’s all about a relationship. We have the hope, the truth, the relationship that people are looking for. It is our desire to be that tool that God uses to share the Gospel message and to have a part in seeing their lives changed. As soon as guests arrive on our campus, we want them to sense the love of God as we love them!
What does a "Welcome Team" consist of?
While it would be wonderful if every church member took “welcoming guests” seriously, we realize that that is not likely to happen. Thus, the importance of a dedicated “Welcome Team!” Each "Welcome Team" will consist of 6-7 individuals which will be made up of a leader, parking lot greeters, entrance greeters, and a roaming greeter.
To fully "staff" our "Welcome Team" ministry, we will need at least 24 individuals. We have already recruited and trained our four leaders. Now we just need to fill out each team!
What does a "Welcome Team" do?
Each "Welcome Team" will serve one Sunday a month and one "5th Sunday" a year.
The primary role of the Welcome Team is to project SCBC's friendliness to all who enter our campus. You are the first touch to our regular attendees and guests as you greet each individual. Since first impressions are so critical, the Welcome Team is vital to SCBC. Serving on the Welcome Team is a wonderful way to serve, get to know the SCBC church family, and help everyone who enters our church feel God's love among us.
I'm interested in serving on a "Welcome Team."
There will be a meeting on Sunday morning, December 1, 2019, immediately following the morning service for those who are interested in serving on a "Welcome Team." More detailed information, along with a "Welcome Team Job Description," will be given out at that meeting. We will introduce all of our "Welcome Team" leaders and will give interested individuals the opportunity to ask questions.
Please sign up to let us know that you are interested. We'll send out reminders before our meeting on December 1.
